46 new private patient rooms

Expanded emergency department from 7 to 12 treatment rooms

Expanded radiology and chemotherapy departments

New registration area

New chapel, gift shop and coffee shop

More than 50 new jobs to be added during the coming years

Mission: We exist to identify and respond to the health and wellness needs of the community, partnering with patients, families and friends through a comprehensive approach to healing that ministers to the mind, body and spirit.

Communities Served: Same as hospital

Mission: We are the fund-raising and friend-raising arm of the hospital. Working with individuals, businesses and private foundations, we will improve the health of our community.

Newest Initiative: Toe River Project Access (TRPA) provides access to primary health and dental care for low-income, uninsured residents of Mitchell and Yancey Counties. Since November of 2003, TRPA has provided over $1,218,473 in free care and prescription assistance.
