Living life to the fullest depends on your ability to participate in everything from normal daily responsibilities to the activities you enjoy and share with family and friends. When your ability to move is limited for any reason, or if you want to build strength and improve balance, you may benefit from the targeted treatment of physical therapy.
The Physical Therapy Department at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital is equipped to treat pain, improve strength and maximize mobility through structured exercise and a wide range of therapeutic treatments. Licensed physical therapists develop a personalized treatment plan and then work with you to meet your goals. Our team coordinates with your primary care physician and delivers quality care to help you return to maximum functioning.
For your convenience, physical therapy is available at two locations. To make an appointment, or for more information, call:

Our Services
Physical therapy uses numerous proven techniques tailored to your individual needs. Licensed physical therapists are qualified to evaluate your condition, develop a comprehensive treatment plan, and recommend assistive equipment if necessary. Our goal is to restore or improve your ability to function by increasing strength, flexibility, range of motion, endurance and balance.
Once you begin physical therapy, you become the most important member of the team. We provide therapy, training and education—and we support you throughout the process—but your dedication and effort are critical. The more you participate, the more you'll gain from our services.
Physical therapy services are delivered to patients in Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, on an outpatient basis at the hospital or the fitness center, and when necessary, we come to your home. Your program may include one or more types of therapy, such as:
- Hands-on therapy such as joint and soft tissue mobilization
- Massage therapy
- Therapeutic exercise
- Electrical stimulation to relieve and reduce pain
- Ultrasound – uses sound waves to generate heat and reduce pain
- McKenzie Method – exercises to treat and prevent back or neck pain
- Body mechanics
- Hydrotherapy
Specialized Treatment and Programs
Blue Ridge Regional Hospital and Blue Ridge Fitness and Rehabilitation also offer specialized treatment programs to help our patients regain and maintain functioning:
